Trump’s Victory and Labour’s Budget: Quarterly Market Update Q4 2024

Many of the key macroeconomic events on our radar for 2024 have now unfolded: the results of the US Presidential election were called quickly in favour of Donald Trump, and Labour’s ‘book balanced budget’ (with lots of spending promises) helped boost market sentiment, there is a lot to digest.

In this Astute Quarterly Market Update for Q4 2024, Hannah Kennedy is joined by Dr Scott Osborne to discuss the financial market impact of these events, exploring what Trump’s victory could mean for the US economy and investments in US companies, as well as the implications of Labour’s recent budget for the UK economy. This update also touches on the positioning of the VT Astute funds in response to these changes, and how they are positioned for the future.
