Astute Acquires the Assets of Williams Financial Planning Ltd!

1st March 2023

Chartered Financial Planners Astute Private Wealth Ltd today announced the acquisition of the assets of Williams Financial Planning Ltd.

Astute Private Wealth, with offices in Chester, Liverpool and Knutsford, specialise in face-to-face financial planning and investment management for high-net-worth clients in the North West.  Their purchase of Wrexham-based Williams Financial Planning assets strengthens their position in the region.

Astute will now have in excess of £900 million funds under management.

Commenting on the sale, Richard Williams, director of Williams Financial Planning said:

“This has been a huge decision for us, not least given that this year would have been 50 years since the ‘Williams’ name first appeared on the high street in Wrexham.

We looked long and hard, and met with several businesses, and ultimately, we’ve been blown away by what we’ve seen at Astute.

It’s becoming rare to find a firm that takes the time to get to know its clients and their financial needs, but this is core to Astute’s approach.

Joining Astute will mean that we, our team and clients will benefit from a dynamic, forward-thinking organisation who have all our best interests at heart.”

Gary Lee, CEO at Astute Private Wealth and Astute Investment Management Ltd commented:

“Williams Financial Planning is a company we know very well and has an outstanding reputation in the local community. Like Williams, Astute is committed to providing a great service and a focus on building long-term client relationships. We were very impressed by the client-centric culture Richard and Lee have nurtured.

Both businesses share the same professional values, the same ethics and the same desire for a positive culture.

We are delighted that Lee and Richard, as well as their support team, will be joining us to enhance the great team we already have at Astute.”
